I've heard the name "Children of Bodom", but I've never listened to their music. The upper songs sound like power metal to me(but is it power metal, I wonder?). About symphonic, I only know a band called Nightwish(from my friend).
i think it's melodic death my favourite album of theirs is follow the reaper back in 2000, definitely check out the re-release deluxe version out in 2006 though
I heard that Deluxe versions usually contained remastered songs. Was that album in 2006 a remastered one? Anyway, I'm glad that "true" metal band like this one is still playing. I'm quite disappointed with the new rock/metal bands in the recent years.
"True", with some metalcore stuff in Are You Dead Yet? Btw, how many rock/metal bands did you hear in the recent years and what's their name?
Well, while listening to some old bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath or Guns n' roses...,I tried listening to a few "modern" bands such as Green Day, Daughtry or Nickelback...I feel that the "modern" bands lack something in their music, like the breath-taking solos during the songs. Don't you think so?:(
They are hardly metal, alternative rock or pop rock at most if you will… However, I do like some of their songs like Basket Case from Green Day or American Idiot album is ok too, I guess. I used to remember hearing it all around my high school back in the day Any1 here likes pink floyd? I like their psychedelic lyrics, if asked I'd probably call them crack rock if possible
Pink Floyd, eh? They have some fantastic albums like "Dark side of the moon" or "The Wall", right? Some of their songs like "Time", "Comfortably numb", "Another brick in the wall" or "Wish you were here" are my favorites.:)
:( I've been wondering about that myself. Must be an error during the registration process. My friend said except my tittle, there was absolutely no information about me in GVN's data. Therefore, this nick is almost untouchable, but at the same time, it cannot be "leveled up":(. I'd prefer an "ordinary nick", so I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix this thing.:(
Just continue on your music talk and don't worry about this trivial matter. Thing will be alright when someone get out of his/her blaziness and fix things for you :(
i like the song which has a lil' girl saying "look mother, there is an aeroplane in the sky" that girl has the cutest british accent ever forgot the name of that song though >.<
They are modern "rock" bands and do you think they will bring solos in their songs? If you like new bands, you can try following bands: Avengend Sevenfold (aka A7X): metalcore (before)/hardcore (after). I like these guys so much, can't imagine they can play many solo parts like power metal style. Dawn of Tears, Divinity, The Absence, Archons. They are all melodic death bands with death stuff is more than melodic stuff (I dont like many "melodic" in extreme style). It's pity that I dont search this style for a long time and I only like old school metal so I can only recommend 4 names above.
I've never listened to them before. Guess I'll try some of their songs to get new feelings then. . ___________Auto Merge________________ . I think you're talking about the song called "Goodbye blue sky" in the first CD of album "The Wall". That song is about war and if you listen carefully to the first part, you'll get the chills. Still that's a great song.:)
I don't really like modern rock dunno why, tried to listen to some bands like Good Charlot or Chemical Romance but simply couldn't get their music into my ears. Somehow I found European metal are really cool to listen to, anyone here listens to Sonata Arctica ey? does anyone have any idea about symphonical and goth rock? So far I had been listening to some of the bands and want to get more but don't know which ones are good.
Symphonic, eh? Why don't you try Nightwish or Within Temptation? Although their vocalists are female, their musics are worth giving a try!:)
got all the albums of those 2 I don't like Nightwish with Tarja though. Eventhough many people prefer Tarja time So far I got Night Wish, WT, Epica, After Forever, Xandria, Sirenia wonder which would be next cuz I want new songs now and recently only Sirenia release new album
Symphonic Metal bands have the tendency to use female vocalists, I wonder why? But it's true that with the female-metal combination, they've brought new feelings to the fans. Love it!
I think it's becuz the female vocal soften the metal and make it sweeter for even female fan. I don't know how about male fan but many listen to symphonical because the combination between classical music and rock, the beauty and beast voice bring such an amazing image about medieval period. And I think sometimes people need some melody after listen to harsh metal well, my opinion. This year I listen to 2 new albums, 1 from Sirenia and 1 from Sonata Arctica, both make me disappointed T_T boooo
