    - DLC Viking Forefathers Culture Pack - Version 1.0.0 build 4514:

The Viking Forefathers Culture Pack adds The Norsemen as a new playable culture to Total War™: ATTILA. These factions may be used in Single or Multiplayer Campaign modes and Custom and Multiplayer battles.

With the Viking Forefathers at their command, players can marshal the forces of The Geats, The Jutes and The Danes as they launch southwards from their icy homelands on campaigns of looting, raiding and conquest. In the bitter, windswept north, hard winters breed hard men, and Norse warriors are redoubtable in combat on land and sea. To these natural seafarers and expert coastal raiders, the plentiful lands to the south promise glorious victories and great plunder!

    DLC informations:
    + Unique Cultural traits:
    - All Norse factions share the Viking Raiders trait, making them expert profiteers from raiding, looting and sacking.

    + Unique Faction Traits:
    - All Norse factions bear a unique trait which further defines their strengths and play-style in the Grand Campaign.

    - The Danes: Seaborn:
    - Immune to both high-seas attrition and seasickness, The Danes are able to weather the worst maritime conditions and make full use of their land units in naval conflict.

    - The Geats: Cold Blood:
    - The hardy Geats are raised in icy climates. As such they benefit from a morale-boost when fighting in winter and are immune to snow attrition.

    + Unique units:
    - Each of the three Norse factions can recruit two unique units in battle:

    + Faction history

    - The Danes
The Danes, or Dani, have achieved that rarest of marriages: barbarian vigour coupled with civilised sophistication. As the most southerly of the Norse kingdoms, they came into contact with the southern European peoples early on, treating them with an uncharacteristic openness.

After this, many left their lands to seek their fortunes elsewhere, returning with more than just gold. One recognised the potential of the Roman alphabet, adopting it to suit his native tongue and the writing materials available in the north. This led to the creation of the first runic alphabet, which rapidly spread across northern Europe, greatly enhancing the Nordic peoples’ culture and trade, resulting in the creation of objects combining both exotic resources and traditional Nordic styles.

However, neither wealth nor culture has dampened the Dani’s desire for conquest. Many northern tribes plunder foreign shores yet neglect their own; not so the Dani. Poised to take advantage of the ensuing upheaval, they strive to forge a grand Nordic empire to outlast that of Rome!

    - The Geats
Legendary ancestors of Beowulf, the Geati manifest all the intrepid boldness of the famous hero. From their stronghold on the southern tip of the Swedish peninsula they have naval access to the whole of northern Europe, allowing them to launch frequent raids without fear of retribution. The most glorious of these exploits are told in the Geati’s rich oral tradition, immortalising their leaders and inspiring a new generation to seek glory.

While the arrival of the Huns in Europe has meant disaster for most, for the Geati it is just another opportunity. Recently their king, Gizur, led a force into central Europe to fight alongside the Goths in exchange for Roman gold and goods – there are rich pickings to be gained fighting for the highest bidder in the south. Crisis is blooming in these fertile lands, and the Geati are determined to be at its heart, profiting from it.

    - The Jutes
The ocean laps the coasts of Juteland, summoning its inhabitants to new adventures and conquests. As such, the Juti have always been the most intrepid of the Norse-speaking peoples, looking to distant shores or clashing over the sparse northern lands. Accordingly, they are in the perfect position to profit from the slow collapse of Roman Britannia, and relentlessly plunder its coast as its defenders dwindle in number.

The Juti leadership use the spoils of their raids to make exquisite, prestige goods. Should the Juti succeed in conquering Britannia, many more will no doubt be forged. A successful conquest would be a great undertaking, and one requiring them to draw on the very depths of their fortitude.

To drive out the remaining Romans, subdue the belligerent locals, and foil the ambitions of their Saxon neighbours who also covet this green and pleasant land – the Juti have vowed no less!

    - DLC - Longbeards Culture Pack Version 1.1.0 build 4884:

The Western Roman Empire lies to the South, her border territories weak and ripe for the plunder. With their unique blend of new buildings, battlefield units and faction traits, The Longbeards are poised to exploit the chaos of the age.

    + Faction history

    - Burgundians
Although occupying the eastern part of central Europe in AD98 and surrounded by other tribal societies, archaeological and linguistic evidence suggests that the Burgundii originated on the Baltic Sea island of Bornholm. By the first century AD however, the Burgundii were active in mainland Europe. As the centuries progressed, they solidified their position as a power in the north and east of the continent. Although defeated by the Romans and surrounded by enemies, as the 4th century begins and the authority of the Western Roman Empire wanes, many tribes have pushed further into former imperial territory. As such the Burgundii now have the chance to move across The Rhine and take their rightful place there – in a world free from the shackles of Imperial Rome!

    - Alamans
As the spirited successors of the Suebi the Alemanni intend to forge a new life for their people away from the nomadic terror of the Huns and their ilk. Regarding themselves as Rome’s nemesis despite several defeats – notably at the battle of Lake Benacus – they have nevertheless stripped the empire of much of its western territory and have the collective will to carry on the fight. Led by a tribal confederation of greater and lesser kings, princes and chiefs who claim royal blood, the Alemanni levy a diverse range of Germanic troops to fight for them. Their destiny, however troubled, lies in greatness beyond The Rhine; their tenacity and sheer bloody-minded determination will see their ambition realised!

    - Langobards
When the small yet noble Winili tribe faced the vandals, their god Godan declared he would give victory to the tribe he saw first on the day of battle. Seeing the Winili with their women warriors, he asked “who are these long beards?” and awarded them victory. The tribe were from then on known as the Langobardi. Now they live along the river Elbe, far from their roots. Led by their king, who shares power with his people wherever possible, they are a determined tribe who have weathered many storms to achieve greatness. Langobardi history is marked by struggle and bloody conflict, and their future doubtless holds more of the same. Yet the Longobardi will emerge victorious, with renewed strength, to face anything the gods can throw at them!

    - DLC - Celts Culture Pack Version 1.2.0 build 5282:

The Celts Culture Pack brings three new playable factions to Total War™: ATTILA. The Picts, the Caledonians and the Ebdanians may be used in Single or Multiplayer Campaign modes and Custom and Multiplayer battles.

As the grasp of Western Rome weakens on the Britannic isles, these fierce tribes stand ready to proclaim their independence and reclaim their ancestral lands. But even as the empire recedes, others are setting their sights on The Tin Islands. The warlords of Germania and the Nordic regions look to the northwest and see a prize worth fighting for…

    • Celtic forces specialise in ambush tactics and ‘Guerrilla Deployment’.
    • New Celtic roster with unique new units for each faction.
    • New Prestige Buildings, requiring great feats to unlock.
    • New unique raiding building chain and Celtic-themed technologies.
    • Bespoke Celtic generals’ skill trees.
    • Unique narrative event chain: Cycle of the Ollam Ri, and new Celtic missions for each faction.

    DLC informations:
    + Cultural traits (Celts):
    - Specialising in ambush tactics, all units in the Celtic faction rosters have the Guerrilla Deployment trait. This enables them to deploy every unit in their army almost anywhere on the battlefield – even behind enemy lines. As specialists, Celtic nations should not be expected to perform as all-rounders; an experienced commander will play to their strengths with deadly effect.

Befitting their skilful application of these traits, sacking, looting and raiding are key sources of income for the Celts and this is reflected in many aspects of their gameplay style and the additional bonuses they receive.

    Ebdanians
Alongside the common Celtic traits for raiding, the Ebdanians also have a talent for sacking and looting that combined gives them a unique playstyle and unrivalled potential for profiting bloodily at their enemies’ expense.

    Picts
As ‘Children of the Night’, the Picts rightfully earn their reputation as skilled nocturnal combatants at land and sea, and may always choose to attack at night. With bonuses to morale in the dark, and a reliance on heavy assault and berserker units, an ambushing Pict army is the literal stuff of nightmares.

    Caledonians
Silver-tongued, wily and deadly in the arts of sabotage and assassination, the Caledonians breed individuals of incredible charm, menace and murderous skill. All Agents from this faction are eager to step forward for duty, more efficient in their assigned tasks and far more likely to succeed.

+ Unique narrative event-chain: Cycle of The Ollam Ri:
    - Playing as these factions will present you with a new series of linked narrative events. The Cycle of The Ollam Ri draws much inspiration from Celtic mythology, and sees you direct the actions of a fabled hero through a series of branching narrative choices. As the tale draws to its conclusion, Ollam Ri himself becomes available as a general for your armies, imbued with traits that mirror the choices you made.

    + Celtic Units:
    - All three factions share a Celtic unit roster consisting of a range of troop types across three tiers. Such as the Sighthound Spears heavy wardogs, Mormaer heavy cavalry and the elite light infantry, Scatha's Teachers.

In addition to this standard roster, each faction has its own unique units:
    Ebdanians
    • Gallowglass: Tier 2 very heavy sword infantry
    • King's Warband: Tier 3 very heavy sword infantry
    • Ebdani Raiders: Tier 2 light javelin skirmishers
    • Kerns: Tier 2 light javelin skirmishers
    • Righdamhna: Tier 3 light javelin skirmishers
    • Ebdani Cavalry Raiders: Tier 2 light skirmisher cavalry
    • Chosen Raiders: Tier 3 light skirmisher cavalry
    • King's Fianna (General): Tier 3 very heavy melee cavalry

    Caledonians
    • Cateran Brigade: Tier 2 very heavy spear infantry
    • Horse Whisperers: Tier 3 very heavy spear infantry
    • Caledonian Axemen: Tier 2 very heavy axe infantry
    • Highland Archers: Tier 2 light bow infantry
    • Elite Highland Archers: Tier 3 light bow infantry
    • Noble Archers (General): Tier 2 medium bow infantry
    • Royal Archers (General): Tier 3 medium bow infantry

    Picts
    • Pictish Axemen: Tier 2 light axe infantry
    • Pictish Swordsmen: Tier 2 medium sword infantry
    • Black Blades: Tier 3 light sword infantry
    • Pictish Berserkers: Tier 2 light axe berserkers infantry
    • Followers Of Morigan (General): Tier 3 very heavy axe infantry

    + Unique buildings:
    - The resourceful Celts benefit from a unique farming chain that is not reliant on fertility. Enclosures can be upgraded to Cattle Pounds and then a Booley, mobilising self-sufficient herds of livestock.

Characterful of their playstyle, a new raiding chain is also unique to Celtic factions. ‘Raiders’ Assembly Point’ can be enhanced to a ‘Raiders’ Gathering Place’, then a ‘Raiders’ Base’ and finally a Raiders’ Hall’. This quick-to-build chain, each tier of which takes a single turn to build, confers significant bonuses to raiding adjacent regions and offers public order and garrison bonuses, making it excellent for newly conquered regions.

    + New Mechanic: Prestige Buildings:
    - The Celts Culture Pack introduces three new Tier 5 buildings, unlocked through a new game mechanic. The Bards’ Hall, the Temple of Belenus and the Central Market confer significant bonuses, and alongside the necessary technological requirements, these buildings require the player to meet specific gameplay conditions in the form of great feats in the fields of religion, trade and warfare.

    + Faction History:

    - Ebdanians
The Ebdanians hold the seat of power at a tumultuous but opportune moment. Occupying the island called 'Hibernia' by the Greeks and Romans, they were first recorded in the Greco-Egyptian writer Ptolemy's 2nd century AD treatise on 'Geography'. Making their home on the eastern shores, the tribe settled between two river estuaries - the Buvinda and Oboca, approximately where the city of Dublin now lies.

Relationships between clans is what drove barbarian culture and society, as clans intermarried, traded and warred with one another. Tribal life in Gaelic Ireland revolved around the clan, an extended family built on kinship, loyalty and, generally, a common ancestry. Hibernian clans were supposed to have been descended from one man, the authority to rule passing down the male bloodline. This means that most clansmen were of the same blood, although fostering and adoption were as common as in other parts of the world. Clans were led by their chieftain, who sat at the top of a strict hierarchical social structure.

Much like the Picts of Caledonia, the tribes of Hibernia have never been conquered by the Roman Empire, though they have traded with it - as evidenced by the discovery of Roman coins across the island. From their well-positioned, defensible capital the Ebdanians control their own destiny; they could rise to rule over the Celtic world, and none on these fair isles - or beyond - will be able to deny them!

    - Caledonians
The Caledonians are northern Britannia's first line of defence against Imperial Rome, and bar the way north for any would-be invaders. Although their true heritage has been much debated, they are believed to be an amalgamation of Pictish tribes and those fleeing the Roman advance into Britannia, surviving mostly in a series of hillforts and farms stretching across the highlands of Scotland.

Unfortunately, most historical sources on the Caledonians are of Roman origin, with the usual Roman bias in the reporting; for instance, Tacitus refuses to use terms such as 'king' to describe the Caledonian leader Calgacus, although this may be because he was unsure of their internal hierarchy. They are first mentioned by Tacitus as fighting at the Battle of Mons Graupius, which they lost once the Legions forced them from the hills into an open field battle, as opposed to the guerrilla-style tactics naturally favoured by the rocky terrain. In mentioning the Caledonians, Tacitus also describes them as the stereotypical definition of red haired, long-limbed “northmen” - furious and barbaric to a man.

In the centuries following Mons Graupius, the Caledonians have remained a belligerent thorn in the Empire's side, constantly crossing into Britannia to raid - and often successfully. Despite dogged Imperial efforts, they steadfastly refuse to be cowed, and stand now against a darkening world, poised to take back what is rightfully theirs!

    - Picts
The Picts are resolute defenders of their homeland, which lies at the far north of the Britannic Isles. The Romans tried for many years to bring them under control - the Emperors Hadrian and Antoninus even resorting to building walls across the country in order to control the passage of, and trade between, Imperial subjects and the savage, tenacious "northmen". The general focus on defence during Hadrian's tenure has led some to the notion that his wall was more than a mere trade gateway - it was intended to keep the Picts and other Caledonian peoples out.

Broadly, the Picts remain an enigmatic people who left no written records behind. However, we know they fought hard and against the invaders because the Roman historian Tacitus made specific references to their defiance in his 'Histories'. It is also likely that 'Picti' (in Latin) was simply a general term used by the Romans for any number of northern tribes whom they considered "painted ones", in reference to the common Celtic tribal custom of tattooing and painting the body before battle.

The Picts were part of the ill-fated Great Conspiracy of AD367-368, when barbarian raids were co-ordinated with the desertion of the Roman garrison along Hadrian's Wall, and almost succeeded in wresting power from the Empire in Britannia and northern Gaul. Now, on the cusp of the 5th century AD, the Picts must rekindle old alliances if they wish to take their country back. Britannia, and indeed the Empire at-large, awaits the outcome - could this be the beginning of a unified Celtic empire in the north, one that will sweep away Roman oppression once and for all?

    - DLC - Blood and Burning Version 1.2.0 build 5282:

    - DLC - The Last Roman Campaign Pack Version 1.3.0 build 6617:

The Last Roman - What is it?
The year is AD533. Within the last century, the Western Roman Empire has been wiped from the face of the earth.

However, the final bastion of Rome’s glory lives on in the Roman Empire of the East; this still formidable power dreams fitfully of regaining its lost grandeur. Emperor Justinian knows there is but one desperate gamble left - an ambitious and dangerous venture to recover what is rightfully his, to reconquer the West before all that Rome once stood for is lost to history. The task is Herculean, with barbarian kingdoms now established and thriving throughout the Mediterranean; there is only one possible man to lead such an expedition.

His father’s former bodyguard, hero of the Battle of Dara, and the ruthless suppressor of the Nika riots.

Belisarius is the final hope of a dying Empire, the Last of the True Romans.

The Last Roman Campaign Pack is an epic expansion for Total War: ATTILA, delivering a narrative, mission-based experience on a new, highly-detailed campaign map of the Mediterranean theatre.

Charging the veteran Total War player with the role of Belisarius and his Roman Expedition, you must reclaim Rome’s lost territories from the savage, hostile forces.
The struggle to fulfil your duty as servant of the Emperor Justinian is brought to life by a series of new story events and missions. The Emperor, the Empress and your own wife, Antonina, vie for your attention, demanding arduous and often contradictory services. Completing these tasks will provide you with the men and supplies you need, but offending the wrong person will greatly weaken the fragile Expedition.

Alternatively, you might declare independence and attempt to re-establish the Western Roman Empire under your own banner, seeking glory and immortality away from the court at Constantinople.

Will you stay loyal to Justinian’s vision of reclaiming Rome from the barbarians? Or will you follow your own path, establishing yourself as a new Emperor in the West?

    + New Campaign Map

The Last Roman’s Campaign map is a vast and highly-detailed representation of central Western Europe in 533 AD, featuring 35 provinces across over 100 regions, including Italy, North Africa, Spain and France.

    + Playable Factions
The Last Roman offers five playable factions – the brand new Roman Expedition but also the Ostrogoths, Vandals, Franks and the Visigoths – each one featuring its own faction traits and new campaign starting-position.

The Vandalic Kingdom is threatened by rebellious Sardinia and the looming Roman danger, while the Ostrogothic Kingdom is hamstrung by its pro-Roman queen and the demands of an unworkable alliance. Both seek to solidify their borders and make the most of Italy’s rich and fertile lands; but Belisarius’ reputation precedes him, and they know a cornered animal will fight to the last.

For the Franks and the Visigoths, the return of the Romans presents an opportunity. Both are growing kingdoms, fuelled by youthful vigour and a thirst for conquest. Now, the time is right for them to expand; with the other great powers locked in conflict for control of distant Africa, Europe lies waiting - waiting for a new, greater empire to rise from Rome’s ashes!

    + New Units:
Alongside revisited unit rosters, the primary factions in The Last Roman also feature the following new units.

    The Roman Expedition:
    - Bucellarii (Guard Cavalry)
    - Foederati (Sword Infantry)
    - Skutatoi (Sword Infantry)
    - Antesignani (Sword Infantry)

    + New Technologies and Buildings
The Last Roman Campaign Pack features many new technologies and buildings.
The Roman Expedition displays a heavily modified Roman technology tree containing 20 new technologies and an entirely new Expedition-specific building tree.
If independence is declared, the Expedition’s building options revert to traditional Roman styles, better suited to the ambitions of an upstart, usurping Emperor.
The other playable factions also feature new combinations of Western Roman and Barbarian technologies and buildings.

    - DLC - Empires of Sand Culture Pack Version 1.4.0 build 7703:

    About This Content

The Empires of Sand Culture Pack brings three new playable factions and new religion features to Total War™: ATTILA.

    - New Factions; Aksum, Himyar and Tanukhids with new unique units.
    - New Campaign mechanics.
    - New Horde mechanics.
    - New Religion features.

Aksum, Himyar and the Tanukhids may be used in Single or Multiplayer Campaign modes and Custom and Multiplayer battles.

Hailing from the harsh deserts of Africa and the Middle East, these factions are part of the new Desert Kingdoms cultural group, and bring new campaign mechanics, new horde gameplay mechanics, events, enhanced religion features, battlefield rosters and unique units to Total War™: ATTILA.

    DLC informations:
    + Desert Kingdoms
All factions in the Desert Kingdoms cultural group benefit from the following traits:
    +2 Sanitation in all regions
+15 Melee attack in desert battles
    Immunity to desert attrition

    + New Religion Features
Because of the dramatic impact religious changes had on these cultures in this period, the Empires of Sand Culture Pack includes a number of changes that increase the importance of religion. There are three new religions available: Eastern Christianity, Judaism and Semitic Paganism.
Each non-horde Desert Kingdoms faction has two main religions to choose between. Aksum may follow Eastern Christianity and Semitic Paganism, while Himyar may choose between Judaism and Semitic Paganism.

Religion now has further-reaching effects, influencing many aspects of Desert Kingdoms campaign gameplay. It is deeply intertwined with a number of features including building chains, victory conditions, events, technologies and overall campaign bonuses:

    - Dual religion building chains
Aksum and Himyar possess a building chain for each of their main religions. They can build these buildings regardless of their faction religion. This allows players to exert greater control over their faction religion and change it reactively in response to their situation.

    - Tier-5 barracks
Aksum and Himyar have two new tier-5 barracks available, one for each religion. To unlock a barracks, the faction must have 75% influence in the respective religion. These barracks buildings each provide three unique elite units as well as unlocking a variety of campaign benefits.

    - Split victory-conditions and achievements
Desert Kingdoms factions have two sets of victory conditions, one for each of their main religions, that involve a number of units and structures related to that religion.

    - Increased diplomatic significance
The new religions have increased diplomatic impact, forcing the player to choose their religion carefully based on who they wish to ally with.

    - Pleasure building-chain
Non-horde Desert Kingdoms factions have access to a new industrial building-chain which provides large sums of money, but decreases your majority religion, meaning you must choose between religious stability and financial gain.

    - Religious technologies
Each non-horde Desert Kingdoms faction has a technology chain for each of its main religions. These convey a number of religious and campaign bonuses to help you manage and optimize your religious choices.

    - Increased Religious Discord Penalties
The public order penalties for religious disharmony within your provinces have been increased between the new religions, meaning that the benefits are balanced with increased risk if you fail to manage your religions correctly.

    - Reactive Religious events (Aksum and Himyar)
Two new events have been added that trigger when certain religious conditions are met, and provide you with intriguing dilemmas and missions.

    + The Tanukhids
The Tanukhids are a horde faction, representing a desert rebellion with a hyper-aggressive playstyle, plus a host of unique traits and features.

    Faction Trait: Legendary Raiders
Rapacious Horde: Food is obtained through settlement battles rather than buildings.
Victory rallies: Every military victory spreads your fame and swells your ranks, increasing the horde’s growth.
Swelling Ranks: Armies in Raiding stance gain a free Rebellion Militia unit every turn.

    - History
The Tanukhids have travelled a long way from their homelands. Originally part of the Qahtani tribal confederation, they migrated north in the aftermath of a flood which devastated their homeland, eventually leaving Arabia altogether.

Coming into contact with the Roman Empire, the Tanukhids have since been employed as Roman foederati, and considered a dependable cavalry force. However, they recently rebelled against Rome following Emperor Valens' attempts to convert them from Orthodox to Arian Christianity. The Tanukhids – under their warrior queen, Mavia – fought so hard, and so fiercely, that they defeated the Romans in the field on several occasions and forced agreement to their terms.

Despite the odds, these devout people have created a life for themselves as free Arabs, who pledge allegiance to none but God and their brave queen - surely all that is required to attain true greatness!

    Campaign features
    - New building trees
While migrating, the Tanukhids have access to a completely new Horde building tree comprising 34 new buildings, each with unique artwork and campaign effects.

    - Unique event chain
A brand new event-chain guides you in your rebellion against the Romans, and leads you ultimately to settlement and the formation of an empire.

    - Dynamic Barrack unlocks
Completing missions unlocks higher tiers of barracks and provides access to new, defecting Roman units.

    - Unit Roster
The Tanukhid Roster focuses on battlefield area-control and micro management. Light but powerful shock cavalry are paired with stealth units and fast pike units.

Badyia Skirmishers – Light stalk (remain hidden in all terrains) Javelinmen
Desert Pikes – Light, rapid advance pikes with high missile block chance
Dune Lancers – Very light guerilla-deployment shock cavalry with javelin precursor
Mavia’s Bodyguards – Very heavy shock cavalry (general’s unit)
Mavia’s Chargers – Very light shock cav with very good charge bonus
Mavia’s Chosen – Very light shock cav with exceptional charge bonus
Mavia’s Lancers – Very light shock cav with good charge bonus
Rebellion Militia – Zero-upkeep troops with high missile block chance and low damage
Sandstorm Lancers – Very light guerilla deployment shock cavalry with javelin precursor
Tanukhid Ambushers – Light stalk swordsmen with exceptional charge
Tanukhid Pikes – Heavy pikes with rapid advance
Desert Palatina Defectors – Heavy Roman defensive infantry
Desert Legionary Guards - Heavy Roman defensive infantry
Hetaireia Guards – Roman two-handed axe infantry
Clibanarii – Heavy Roman shock cavalry with bows

    + Aksum
Located on the coast of Africa, the people of Aksum owe their power to excellent trade routes, a fact reflected in their gameplay and traits.

Faction Trait: Gateway To The East
Supply network: +30 food for each active trade network (maximum 150).
Merchant Guards: +100 to mercenary pool replenishment rate.
    Commercial Mastery: +10% trade income.

    - History
The Kingdom of Aksum grows prosperous through trade; the Silk Road is kind to those who know
how to harness its riches, and the Aksumites have spent their lives trading along it.

Although its Ethiopian heartlands have been occupied for hundreds of years, Aksum has recently grown in size due to the hugely lucrative trade route to India and beyond, on which it sits. When a nation becomes so rich and powerful, it attracts those who wish to steal its wealth for themselves; the neighbouring Himyarites are one such adversary.

As the 5th century dawns, military and religious lines have once again been drawn in the sand. Aksum enjoys Rome's favour, and the wealth of the world fills its coffers - let those who would challenge that might face Aksumite steel, and feel Aksumite strength!

    Campaign features

    - Unique Event Chain
A unique event chain challenges you to claim a series of resources in exchange for unlocking new spice buildings, and Gupta Indian influenced units.

    - Unit Roster
The Aksumite roster focuses on powerful spears and shock troops. They are lightly armoured but capable of devastating optimal damage. They also have a number of unusual troops, such as hunting dog archers and hybrid axe/bow units.

Abunas Guard – Heavy defensive spear cavalry (Eastern Christian only)
Adana Marksmen – Elite Warhound bowmen
    Adana Trackers – Warhound Bowmen
Afar Camel Riders – Guerilla deployment mounted Camel Swordsmen
Afar Raidmasters – Shock infantry with exceptional attack (Semitic Pagan only)
Afar Swordsmen – Shock infantry with high attack
Beher’s Chosen – Heavy shotel unit (Semitic Pagan only)
Bet Giorgis Cavalry – Medium spear cavalry with exceptional attack (Eastern Christian only)
Elite Tor Warriors – Heavy defensive spears
Marz Archers – Snipe (fire from cover) archers
Masqal Spearmen – High armour-piercing, high attack spearmen (Eastern Christian only)
Mounted Marz Archers – Mounted archers
Ras Guard – Heavy defensive spear unit with precursor
Sons of the Invincible Mahrem – High base damage, high attack spearmen (Semitic Pagan only)
Spice Guard – Hybrid two-handed axe unit with bow
Spice Warriors – Light khanda wielder
    T’or Warriors – Defensive spearmen

    + Himyar
Himyar is a powerful Arabian kingdom on the peninsula. The Himyarites survive in their arid lands through a series of specialised adaptations to the desert.

    Faction Trait: Desert Warriors
Fatigue rate: -15% for all warriors.
Marib Dam: Unique fertility-boosting building in faction capital.
Desert Saboteurs: Stops foreign replenishment in regions where armies are present.

    - History
The Sabaean Kingdom is diminished and, in its place, Himyar ascends! The victorious Shamir Yuhar'ish has declared himself "King of Saba, Dhu Raydan and of Hadramawt and Yamanat" at his coronation, and no one dares challenge this proclamation.

Sabaean local power was based, in large part, on overland trade routes, but Himyar has discovered and exploited new sea trade routes to India, making it the principle economic power in southern Arabia. Much like neighbouring Aksum, Himyar controls the flow of trade along major trade routes to the east.

The militaristic Himyarites relentlessly pursue their aims, particularly when facing the hated Aksumites. Himyar has even recently converted to Judaism, seemingly only to fuel the constant war that rages between them. It has sacrificed much to hold onto a powerful position during a tumultuous time, and will surely seize the future by force of will alone!

    Campaign features

    - Marib Dam: Unique Events
The Marib Dam was an engineering marvel of the ancient world, though it was famously breached. Playing as Himyar, players will periodically be presented with options to make repairs. Leaving the dam untended brings the risk of floods, and repair is costly – however, in good working order, the dam can bring a powerful series of benefits.

    - Unit Roster
Hardy and weathered, Himyar forces are drilled to feats of great stamina. Their roster is built around a series of tanking defensive units to represent their desert hardiness.

Almaqahs Lancers – Very heavy camel lancers (Semitic Pagan only)
Armoured Himyarite Shotelai – Armoured camel mounted shotelai
Ashum – Light archers with large shield
Athars Chosen – 80 man unit with exceptional health, attack, morale, damage and charge (Semitic Pagan only)

    About This Content
TW ATTILA: Age of Charlemagne Campaign Pack

    • Huge new Campaign, set at the dawn of the Middle Ages.
    • Enter the Medieval era with Knights, Housecarls and a new illuminated UI art style.
    • 8 Playable factions with all new Units, Tech and Buildings.
    • New game features with Story-based and Kingdom Events.
    About this Content
The world lays in tatters, exhausted, bleeding, scarred and burnt, the people desperate. But even after the apocalypse there are men willing to give everything to return to light, to knowledge, to civilisation. Whatever the cost, and whatever the means...

It is the age of a chosen few, an age of greatness, when the first true kings built vast kingdoms from the ashes of past empires... it is the Age of Charlemagne.

The year is 768AD and, after the death of his father, Charlemagne is to share the Frankish throne alongside his brother. A situation that ill-befits a man of his vision, and their relationship clouds as he feels the fiery blood of his grandfather, Charles Martel, stir in his veins.
Friends, enemies and opportunity populate a continent tired of conflict, the people eager for peace. Charlemagne finds himself at the head of a new age of education, religion and warfare, and sees all as tools to unite, stabilise… and expand.
The Saxons, the Saracens and the Vikings will all have something to say to a man of such ambition.
It will take guile, charm, intelligence and ruthlessness to succeed above all others.
Charles the Great, King of the Franks, the Father of Europe.
Will you make your mark in his image, or will you become your own king?

    DLC informations:
+ A Unique Campaign with New Gameplay Mechanics
Age of Charlemagne is an epic expansion for Total War: ATTILA, set in the Middle Ages on an sprawling new campaign map of Europe.
There have been kings and kingdoms before, but this is a time where truly great men united entire nations, built lasting legacies and defined what it meant to be a king. Can you be counted amongst them?
You’ll face a new age, but an exhausted world, weary of conflict and battle. New technologies and new ways of waging war will only get you so far. A good king is a shrewd man, who knows precisely how far his people can be pushed.
Do not mistake a reluctance to go to war as a sign that a nation is unprepared for it. Europe remains a melting pot of conflicting ideologies and long held distrust. While the old Empire is now a fading memory, the threats and consequences of its passing echo, resonating in new dangers and pressures for fledgling nations.
Opportunity presents itself in tying together vast new kingdoms, powerful new states that can be marshalled under a banner of civilisation drawn from ashes. Greatness awaits you, if you have the steel and vision of Charlemagne.

+ New Campaign Map and UI
The brand new Age of Charlemagne Campaign map is focussed in on Europe from the year 768AD. With 52 conquerable provinces, it provides a detailed and vibrant geopolitical starting position, offering hundreds of hours of potential gameplay.
The User Interface is now resplendent in a style inspired by the art of the Middle Ages. Influences ranging from illuminated manuscripts and early stained glass work will lend colour and atmosphere to your campaign.

    + Playable Factions
Age of Charlemagne includes a diverse selection of playable factions, each one featuring its own faction traits, unit roster and unique and challenging conditions under which they can be named a ‘kingdom’ in their own right.

    + New Units
Age of Charlemagne includes all new units to better reflect the advancing warfare of the period, characterised by more heavily armed and armoured infantry and an increasing prevalence of cavalry of all categories, especially the emergence of knights in the Norman style for the first time.
With over 300 new units, you will have the opportunity to recruit iconic military forces of the period, such as Thegns, Fyrd Axemen, Scola Knights, Berber Jinetes, Gazehounds and the feared Seax-armed Saxon warriors.

    + War Weariness
The sign of a great true king is in knowing how far your people can be pushed. Wars are significant and dramatic events between kingdoms, and should not be undertaken lightly. The fewer wars you wage the better your people will respond, as frequent and drawn out conflict will rapidly damage morale and your armies’ integrity.
A shrewd ruler will seek to bring peace quickly and decisively.

+ Unique Kingdom and Story Events
Each playable faction has a unique set of challenging ‘Kingdom’ requirements to meet for the dedicated and shrewd player. Once achieved, you will be able to declare a new Kingdom name for your faction, reflecting or altering history in your wake.
In addition, each faction will receive tailored narrative Story Events, offering you distinct challenges and dilemmas as your Campaign unfolds. Historically-inspired, some choices will lead you further to that faction’s original destiny, or you may choose to carve a new path of your own.

    + New Technologies and Buildings
Age of Charlemagne features many technologies and buildings that reflect the new period; significantly, you’ll encounter and leverage those that inspire the emerging ideas of Feudalism and Chivalry as your campaign progresses.
Many buildings also now give bonuses to adjacent provinces as well as their own, allowing for more specialisation within the different geographic areas of your kingdom and chaining combinations of benefits across your lands.
In addition, while conflict will always dog you, victory conditions that reward a less military-focussed approach are achievable; testing your mettle as both a compassionate and cunning ruler.

    + Agents and Skills
You will find Agents more specialised than before, with Assassins, Spies and Priests (or Imams) focused on a more powerful but specific ability set rather than being more useful in all situations.
Alongside your Generals, Agents also receive all new skill trees with more variation in the branches available to them. This provides greater choices in how you develop and specialise them over time.
Finally, the new Army and Navy Legacies will focus on bonuses that reward distinct playstyles.

    - DLC - Slavic Nations Culture Pack Version 1.6.0 build 9772:

    About This Content

The Slavic Nations Culture Pack brings three new playable factions to Total War™: ATTILA. The Anteans, Sclavenians and Venedians may be used in Single or Multiplayer Campaign modes and Custom and Multiplayer battles.

A hardy and mobile people, The Slavs range far and wide across the blasted Steppe to recolonise and bring new life to abandoned earth. When conflict occurs, they release withering hails of poison arrows on their foes. Whether through diplomacy or conflict, they offer the perfect counter to the Hunnic threat, and introduce a number of unique ways to play Total War: ATTILA in both Campaign and Battle.

    DLC informations:
+ New buildings and victory conditions
Victory for the Slavic Nations requires the player to build Wonders from the new Legendary building chain. The scale of the victory (minor/regular/divine) and type of victory (military/cultural) depends upon the Wonder built, and players can continue to build different Wonders to achieve greater scales of victory.

These Wonders, while very expensive to build and maintain, confer increasingly powerful provincial and faction-wide bonuses, and unlock powerful new battle abilities for Slavic units.

The new City Religion building chain offers temples with numerous religious and civic bonuses, and unlocks the Last Stand battle ability for all Slavic units in the province.

The new Town Religion building chain offers temples which improve growth and fertility within the province. Combined with their cultural immunity to snow attrition, this enables Slavic nations to thrive more effectively as the climate cools.

    + Slavic Cultural Traits
All factions in the Slavic cultural group benefit from the Hardy Warriors trait, which enables them to swiftly recolonise razed provinces. Hardy Warriors confers the following bonuses:

    • Immunity from snow attrition
    • Zero colonisation cost
    • 50% discount for all main settlement buildings.

In addition, the new Zadruga building chain helps the Slavic nations to kickstart their economies in newly colonised regions. The chain offers a large base income at tier 1, and generates increased wealth from adjacent owned provinces. In brief, the Slavic nations can very quickly establish fresh colonies at no cost, and begin profiting from them immediately.

    + Poison arrows
A unique new ammunition type available only to Slavic factions, poison arrows are the deadliest arrow type in the game. Poison arrows cause exhaustion to the target and generate damage over time. The Anteans can employ heavy poison arrows, with severely enhanced negative effects on their targets.

    + The Slavic Nations

    - The Anteans
Often considered to be an off-shoot of the Venedians, the Anteans have nevertheless fought with savage fury, forging both independence and an identity of their own. Ironically, they were saved from Gothic subjugation by the advancing Huns, who forced the Goths westward before they were able to establish total dominance over the Slavs. The dawning of the 5th century AD promises nothing but further chaos; the Huns continue to maraud whilst the Roman Empire braces against them, desperately hoping to hold back the tide any way they can. Amidst this, the Anteans stand firm, determined to prove themselves strong, to emerge a unified Slavic power!

With a starting position adjacent to the Huns, the Roxolanians and the Quadians, Antean campaigns offer a significant challenge from the word go. Their faction trait also means that they must be mindful of battle terrain, and choose their engagements accordingly. As a result, Antean campaigns are rated Very Hard!

    Faction Trait: Liberty for Wolves
    • +20 morale, melee attack, melee defence, melee damage when fighting in forests
    • +20 morale, melee attack, melee defence, melee damage when fighting river battles
    • -10 morale, melee attack, melee defence, melee damage when fighting in grassland/open fields
    - The Venedians
The true origins of the Venedians are shrouded in confusion, the Romans incorrectly classifying them as a Germanic people. With typical Roman snobbish arrogance, Ptolemy described their squalid living conditions and their "repulsive" appearance. Despite these scathing remarks, the Venedians have endured, becoming so populous that they have branched into two separate groups; Eastern Roman scholars make specific mention of the Venedians as the "fathers" of many of the other Slavic peoples. Although considered a guiding light in the gloom of the upcoming 5th century AD, the path ahead will not be easy - Huns, Romans and barbarians all encroach on Venedian territory. Yet if they can hold their nerve, and never cower to the mighty or the desperate, they may rise to inherit the world beyond!

Combining major farming bonuses with the Slavic Nations cultural trait, the Venedians excel at colonising and building their economy around algriculture. They also have a unique event chain which majorly improves their diplomatic relations with the Huns over time, making them well-placed to avoid the worst ravages of the apocalypse.

Faction Trait: In Touch With The Ground
    • Venedian farms carry no negative effects (squalor/public order)
    • +100% income from farms
    • -50% income from commerce, industry and culture
    - The Sclavenians
The Sclavenians are an aggressive Slavic people who descended from the east, taking advantage of the thinly-spread Imperial armies and raiding Thrace and Illyricum - intent on finding both loot and a place to settle. Inevitably, this has drawn the ire of the beleaguered, but nevertheless still proud and mighty Roman Empire. Now, as the 4th century AD ebbs away, the 5th promises to be a time of unending challenges. Yet the Sclavenians are possessed of a fierce and irresistible temperament, showing time and time again that they are capable of mighty feats and that the future will be no different!

With a faction trait geared specifically towards slaying Nomad factions – and profiting well from it – the Sclavenians are the world’s best hope for defeating the Huns!

Faction Trait: Horned Is The Hunter
    • +10 morale, melee damage, melee attack and melee defence when fighting Nomadic factions
    • Extra income for every unit destroyed
    • +5 Public Order from military presence

    + Unit Roster
