Activision targeting a Gamescom reveal for Call of Duty Vita.
More information on Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified will be revealed during Gamescom next week, according to a new report.
This week's issue of MCV reports that both Activision and Sony will reveal more info on Declassified during next week's show, which it claims will be released "in a matter of months".
Michael Sportouch, Activision's general manager for Call of Duty in Europe, added that fans "can really expect us to deliver a true Call of Duty experience [with Black Ops: Declassified].
"We are really excited about the opportunities that the Vita could offer us in terms of connecting with a new audience."
Despite the game's supposed imminent release, little is known about Black Ops Declassified beyond the fact that it "explores original fiction in the Call of Duty Black Ops universe with an all-new campaign of Special Ops missions".
Back in June, Treyarch told VideoGamer.com that it didn't know who was developing the game.
We were later told that Activision's new Leeds studio would be handling "all handheld" Call of Duty titles going forward. It's unknown whether this extends to Black Ops Declassified.
So who is developing it? And what does it look like?
Expect all to be revealed when Gamescom opens its doors next Wednesday.
[spoil]Sine Mora is a horizontal bullet hell shoot ‘em up from Grasshopper Maunfacture and Digital Reality. The title was announced earlier this year for a PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3 release alongside the 360 version published this past March. The game features over 60 weapon combinations, and a score created by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) with character designs by Mahiro Maeda. The Vita version won’t be a direct port as it’ll contain a new character in Wilhelmine Muller who’ll come with new weapons amongst other things. That’s not all for Vita exclusive features though, as the game will support touch control to launch sub weapons as well as being one of the few Vita games to have a feature exclusive to the 3G/Wi-Fi model. Sine Mora will have a gallery mode that is unlocked via travel, so GPS is required. In it you’ll be able to see 50 character sketches from the game.
Sine Mora was originally scheduled for release this summer. A more specific release date has yet to be announced.
[/td]Coming this November, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified will pack single-player missions set between Black Ops and Black Ops 2. On top of that, Call of Duty Vita will support four-on-four wi-fi multiplayer that includes team deathmatch and Kill Confirmed (where you kill people and have to pick up their dog tags). Maps are built for the Vita, and PlayStation is promising touch screen gadgets and Near features.
On top of all that, there will be a Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified Vita bundle. The handheld included will pack a customized COD back panel. The game will be in there, too.
Sony has detailed PlayStation Vita firmware update version 1.80, due to release worldwide on August 28. Its full feature set includes:
Adds support for PSone Classics.
Control the home screen and some features in applications, such as Video, Music, or Settings, using the buttons on PS Vita.
Variable speed playback, fast-rewind and fast-forward, and repeat play will be supported in the Video application.
Music playlists which are imported from PlayStation 3 (PS3) or iTunes under Music application will be supported.
“Cross-Controller” icon will be added to the LiveArea under the Remote Play application to enable users to play PS3 format software by using their PS Vita as a controller.
Additionally, Sony has announced plans to expand its PlayStation Plus service, currently available for PlaySation 3 users, to PlayStation Vita users later this year. More details on that will be shared at a later date.
