Tối qua, R* đã công bố Bully: Scholarship Edition sẽ ra mắt trên hệ máy Wii vào 4/3/2008 và trên hệ máy X360 vào 7/3/2008 ở UK. Phiên bản trên X360 sẽ mang đến hình ảnh chất lượng cao với nhiều hiệu ứng đẹp mắt.
Ngoài ra thì 1 bản addition trên PS2 sẽ bao gồm: 8 nhiệm vụ mới, 4 môn học mới, nhiều items và quần áo để unlock, chế độ chơi 2 người trong minigames.

Xem ra GTA IV sẽ ko ra mắt vào tháng 3, ít nhất sẽ phải là tháng 4 ..

Illusion Softworks, studio phát triển game Mafia lừng danh đã chính thức trở về mái nhà chung Take2. Illusion Softworks sẽ được đổi tên thành 2K Czech cho phù hợp với mô hình của Take2 nhưng đội ngũ phát triển sẽ vẫn giữ nguyên. Như vậy là ngoài GTA, Mafia cũng đã trở thành 1 thành viên của gia đình "Take 2 Games" rồi :cool:

Originally scheduled for release in October, the first Grand Theft Auto offering for the current generation of consoles promises to be everything that the superb GTA: San Andreas was and much, much more. With that said, Rockstar Games has been typically coy when it comes to detailing GTA IV's features, so almost everything that we know about the game has been gleaned from those stylish trailers that we've been teased and taunted with every few months for what feels like an eternity.

Grand Theft Auto IV will take place in Liberty City, but it's a very different Liberty City from the one featured in GTA III. This one looks more like an accurate re-creation of New York than a caricature of it and, at least in one or two of the screenshots that have been released, it looks to be almost as densely populated as the real deal. In something of a departure for the series, you won't play as a wannabe mafia boss or gangster but as a Russian immigrant who moves to the US after your cab-driving cousin convinces you that the streets of Liberty City are paved with gold--at least those surrounding his make-believe mansion. We really don't know much else about the storyline except that it'll inevitably involve a life of crime, which will, of course, provide countless opportunities to test-drive other people's cars, motorcycles, boats, and--almost certainly--helicopters. It's been more than three years since GTA: San Andreas first appeared on the PlayStation 2. Its sequel really can't come soon enough.

Tại hội nghị các nhà phát triển game (GDC), Microsoft chính thức công bố GTA IV: Episode One sẽ ra mắt vào tháng 8 năm nay trên hệ máy X360 (độc quyền). So với phiên bản GTA IV ra mắt vào tháng 4 thì có vẻ Episode One được tung ra hơi sớm. Dù sao thì đây cũng là 1 tin vui với các fan hâm mộ.

Cũng tại GDC, All Points Bullentin (APB) đã được trình diễn một đoạn demo đầu tiên. APB là một game online phát hành trên PC và X360 do David Jones, người có công sáng lập dòng game GTA phát triển. APB trước đây đã được giới thiệu là 1 game có phong cách GTA, được chia làm 2 phe cảnh sát và tội phạm. Mỗi phe đều có trang bị, khí giới và nhiệm vụ riêng. APB có thể hỗ trợ tới 100 người chơi cùng lúc. Tuy ko phảii thuộc GTA series nhưng đây cũng có thể coi là 1 GTA MMO. IGN đã nhanh tay có 1 bài preview khi xem đoạn demo tại GDC lần này. Sau sự kiện đình đám Activision sát nhập với Blizzard để trở thành đối trọng của EA, thì ông lớn EA cũng lập tức có động thái đáp trả. Hôm qua EA chính thức tuyên bố mua lại Take2 với giá 2 tỉ đô la. Giá này tương đương với mức giá 26$/cổ phiếu để mua được trên 50% số lượng cổ phiếu của Take2. Trước đó EA đã từng trả 25$/cổ phiếu nhưng bị từ chối. EA hy vọng với mức giá này sẽ thu hút các cổ đông của Take2 bán cổ phần.
Đáp lại hành động của EA, hôm nay Take2 chính thức công bố từ chối việc mua bán này: "TAKE-TWO INTERACTIVE SOFTWARE'S BOARD REJECTS ELECTRONIC ARTS' UNSOLICITED PROPOSAL AS INADEQUATE." Với lý do lợi nhuận mà GTA IV sắp tới sẽ đem lại, Take2 cho rằng đây chưa phải là thời điểm thích hợp để mua bán.
Tuy vậy họ vẫn sẵn sàng thảo luận lại với EA vào 30/4/08, 1 ngày sau khi GTA IV ra mắt.

"Given the great importance of the Grand Theft Auto IV launch to the value of Take-Two, the Board has determined that the only prudent and responsible course for [Take-Two] and its stockholders is to defer these discussions until immediately after Grand Theft Auto IV is released. Therefore, we offered to initiate discussions with EA on April 30th, 2008 (the day after Grand Theft Auto IV is scheduled to release)."

# With GTA IV shipping on April 29, development on this important title must now be essentially complete. We believe now is the right time to complete a transaction with minimal disruption for Take-Two.

ESRB - hệ thống phân loại game theo độ tuổi bậc nhất của Mỹ đã đánh giá GTA IV là M (mature, 17+). Như vậy là GTA IV vẫn có mức M như thường lệ, ngoài ra thì no hot coffee, chắc chắn rồi :cool:
Có tin đồn là PEGI, hệ thống phân loại của Châu Âu cho GTA IV rate 18+, tuy vậy thông tin này chưa chính thức. Ở Úc thì GTA IV chỉ có MA15+ thui.

R* vừa cho ra mắt website mới mang tên: Rockstar Social Club. Tại đây sẽ cập nhật mọi thông tin về hệ thống multiplayer, bảng xếp hạng các thành tích đạt được trong game (cái này hay nha) và còn có thể download các soundtrack khi nghe bất kỳ bài nào trong GTA IV qua hệ thống điện thoại trong game. Bất cứ khi nào bạn gọi tới số ZIT-555-0100 bạn sẽ nhận được thông tin về bài hát đang nghe, đường link download (nếu bạn đã đăng ký là thành viên CLB). Đây là 1 kiểu tương tác giữa game và đời thực mà tôi nghĩ R* rất sáng tạo và áp dụng tốt (R* kết hợp với Amazon để triển khai dịch vụ này). R* hôm nay chính thức công bố mua lại Mac Doc Software và đổi tên thành Rockstar New England. Studio này được biết đến với dòng game Empire Earth và tựa game Star Trek Armada II. Macdoc cũng từng hợp tác với R* làm game Bully: Scholarship Edition.
